..... so, I wake up one day to find I'm old enough to get the Senior Citizens' discount down at the grocery store but I've yet to figure out what I want to be when I grow up! Since I was twelve years old I've always had a job. I've shoveled mud at car washes, moved material around in a hellishly hot forging plant, driven an eighteen wheeler, supervised a CCTV shop at one of the world's largest airports, provided IT support, written software for security systems, and currently I'm the Director of IT & T at a private school. (IT & T? That's Information Technology & Toilets. One wears a lot of hats at a private school.) I have and can do a lot of things, except, maybe, make money. That one always seems to elude me. Still, I just felt the need to do something 'fulfilling.'
Through a series of circumstances that I could have never predicted, I find that what I really want to do is make movies. Silly as it might seem, that is what I want to do. I realize that I may be perceived as one of those 'mature' folks that are sometimes seen down at the local park making really bad paintings, pursuing their dream of artistry. If that is how I'm seen, so be it. One day I had an epiphany. While I lived my responsible, routine, and unfulfilling life, getting ever older, those would be artists still dream. Dreams keep life alive. Are there more of you out there that want to dream with me?
